User Reviews about Kodak EasyShare M820 Digital Frame with Home Décor Kit
This is my fisrt photo frame. I have not seen any other ones physicaly to compare the performance. I just pointed out few advantages & disadvantages as below :
advantages:
1) u can play both music & photos at the same time.
2) video playing is also supported
3) builtin speaker is loud
4) clarity is acceptable
5) built in memory is sufficient
6) has option connect to printer directly without the need to connect to a PC
7) SD card & usb options make it handy
8) Touch Screen
9) Supports universal voltages, so u can take it to any part of the world
disadvantages:
1) picture clarity is good for nature, animals, scenaries etc. But for portraits/photos taken from my point to shoot camera doesn't look great as it looks in my PC
2) sliding the photos take lot of time & is not accurate
3) No option for battery, means the item is not portable, u cant watch photos while travelling/moving etc..
4) no option for changing the frames, so u will have to stick to the same white frame everytime.
5) no intelligent picture detection, so some of the photos will be cropped to fit the screen, so u miss seeing the faces of persons if they are on the edge of the photo. -- OK for the price
This frame is a little fancier than what I was looking for originally, but when it appeared on Amazon as a Gold Box Deal, I couldn't pass it up. This is a good-looking frame with an excellent picture quality. It can be set up to display the image in it's original form, or the frame can auto-zoom the photo to fill the screen. Mine is set up for the auto zoom and it's effective on about 98% of the pictures loaded. I would adjust the other 2% slightly if possible, but I can live with the auto settings. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this frame has an auto on/off feature. I have mine on my desk at work and it turns on before I come in, in the morning and shuts off when I leave for the day. I disable the auto on/off on Fridays, so it doesn't run unnecessarily when I'm not in the office. I can't comment on the bundled software as it's not compatible with Macintosh. However, if you're considering the purchase of this frame and you're a Mac user, don't fret. I used a thumb drive to transfer some initial files to the internal memory. There's also a mini-USB connection on the frame that should allow you to connect and synch photos to the internal memory. I simply used a thumb drive to copy some photos to the frames internal memory before my SD card arrived. The frame automatically reduces the original file size in the transfer to conserve valuable internal memory space. Upon receipt of the SD card, I loaded it up with the photos I wanted and the frame instantly recognized it. 100% satisfied with this frame!
-- Very nice picture...
